Cosmetic/regenerative surgery

In particular, regenerative medicine deals with repairing, regenerating, or replacing tissues or organs damaged by disease, trauma, or due to birth defects (congenital) or aging.

Regenerative medicine is a new frontier in medicine, extremely innovative and in step with scientific progress. It draws on contributions from multiple disciplines such as biology, chemistry, medicine, computer science, and engineering to resolve many acute and chronic diseases for which conventional medicine has proven inadequate.

A major impetus for the development of this new approach to medicine has undoubtedly come, on the one hand, from the achievements of engineering and nanotechnology applied to biomedicine and, on the other, from studies on the use of stem cells, special multipotent cells that, under appropriate conditions, are capable of regenerating tissues and organs.

Depending on the field of application, regenerative medicine includes:

LIPOGEMS^®

Tissue processing takes place in a closed-loop system and in a single surgical procedure; the result is minimally manipulated tissue that can be used to repair, restore, or replace damaged tissue.

HARVESTING

This phase can be performed under general or local anesthesia. After infiltrating a solution composed of saline, adrenaline, and lidocaine, the adipose tissue is harvested. Both procedures are performed using a series of blunt-tipped cannulas connected to Luerlock^® syringes contained in the kit.

PROCESSING

The harvested tissue is processed immediately in the operating room using the LIPOGEMS^® system. This phase allows for a gradual reduction of the fat clusters until a particularly fluid product is obtained, free of pro-inflammatory oily and bloody components.

Once processing is complete, the tissue is removed from the device and immediately transferred to the site of interest.
